C/O 89 will be selling the official tailgate shirts this year. What you see in the picture below is exactly what the shirts will look like. No other colors or styles are available now. It’s that time again Wildcats

August 4, is the 2018 Flint Northwestern Tailgate, and we really want to make this 9th Annual tailgate a huge memorable success due to the closing of our beloved High School. Our goal this year is to have at least 20,000 Northwestern Alumni attend. Although that is a big number, we know it can be done. To make this year a huge success we had to implement some changes. One of the changes that must happen this year is a charge of $5.00 for parking. Due to unsuccessful attempts to collect donations or Go Fund Me accounts in the past, these charges are necessary. Here are some of the expenses the parking fee will help with:

• Deposit for the school
• 15 to 20 Portable Potties
• At least 10 Police officers at $20.00 an hour, THIS IS A MUST
• Dumpster
• School Supplies that will be purchased this year (for the last 3 years the “Fill the Bus” has not been a huge success)
• Purchasing of a Liability Insurance Policy
• Grover Kirkland Scholarship Fund (which will go to the remaining Flint School that is open which is Flint Southwestern)

We have thrived on calling our tailgates “a party with a purpose” and we want to continue that. We were able to give out 2 scholarships from the 2017 Flint Northwestern Tailgate to Valerie Pringle and Iveyon Love, both 2018 graduates of Flint Northwestern.

Also, if you are a vendor and you have plans to sell your product at the Tailgate, please send a message to Mageela Wheeler via Facebook. There is a vendor fee and if this fee isn’t paid you will not be allowed to sell your product and will be escorted off the premises.

Sunday following the tailgate we are looking for at least 100 volunteers to help with clean-up. Immediately, following clean-up we will have an alumni breakfast at Cracker Barrel on Pierson Road.
