I have remained a resident of Flint, MI since graduation from Eastern Michigan University in 82'. I have maintained positions as a Social Worker in the mental health field my whole career. I currently work for a company who provides residential services for the Mentally Ill and Developmentally Disabled population. I am Regional Director, and oversee approx.40 residential sites (Group homes, and Semi-independent living apartments). I have been married for 29 years to fellow Wildcat Johnny Manuel, c/o '76, and have two children (sons): Johnny, Jr. 27 who is a singer, and Jewan 24 who works in banking. All three of my siblings (sisters) are former Wildats as well: Minetta c/o '74, Sherri c/o '79, and Tonja c/o '85. I love the Lord, and I am thankful to still be here to see another year and to be a part of another class reunion. I am praying that everyone is healthy and prospering. I'm very excited to see my classmates again, and looking forward to having a great time......as always!!!
My most memorable and funniest school story is from my Senior year, when I went to class on our skip day, caus' I was too scared to go to the park, and the teacher (can't remember who) told me to "go home", caus' nobody else was there.......pitiful.
I will also never forget how our group of prom double daters (Me, Grovette, Fay, Lawana, Kelvin, Toe Joe, Pops, and June Bug) got stranded when one of the cars broke down on the way back from Cedar Point, and we had to spend the night in a hotel somewhere between Ohio and Flint. There were so many rumors 'swirling' around when we got back to school, but only those who were there know the truth!!!! :-)
